Veterans' museum to feature speaker who parachuted during U.S. invasion

May 31—Former Army Ranger Salvatore "Sammy" DiTusa will offer his perspective of the U.S invasion of Panama at a talk Sunday.

DiTusa was among the U.S. Army Rangers who parachuted into Panama, according to the Italian American War Veterans Museum, in a night jump in December 1989 in an invasion authorized by then-President George H.W. Bush.

DiTusa will speak at 3 p.m.June 5 at the Italian American Veterans Museum, on the third floor of the Office Center at Casa Italia, 3800 Division St., Stone Park. The museum will be open at 2 p.m., with light refreshments served. One of the museum's board members, Lorenzo Fiorentino, is a founder of the Chicago Combined Veterans Museum in River Grove.
