Remembering Walter Hoke Jr.: ‘found joy in everything’

Walter C. Hoke Jr. was a certified dog trainer, volunteer for H.O.P.E. and a former officer with Dauphin Dog Training Club.

Hoke, 72, of Grantville, died Aug. 15 at home.

Hoke was a welder at the former Bethlehem Steel before becoming a welding instructor at Cumberland Perry Area Vocational Technical School. He then became a district manager for MG Industries and retired after 19 years of service.

He was a member of Temple Micah, a Vietnam War veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the American Legion Post No. 945.

He also enjoyed golf, motor sports and traveling.

Surviving are his wife, Lisa Yaffe; daughter, Kelly L. Seaman (David R.) of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Sadie, Macy and Greyson; brothers-in-law, Roy (Hope) and Peter (Christine); niece, Elizabeth; and nephews, Spencer and Luke.
